Lois Wells Anthony, 93 of Lexington passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Plum Creek Health Care Community in Lexington.

Lois was born February 22, 1925 on the family farm on the north side of the Lincoln Highway, northwest of Lexington to Vernon J. and Florence (DeLap) Wells. She joined a brother Stanley Wells.

Lois obeyed the Lord’s command and was immersed into Christ at the age of ten at the Cozad Church Of Christ.

Lois attended school at District North 22 through the fourth grade and then District North 16 through the 8th grade. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1941. She was enrolled in L.H.S. normal teaching training and started teaching in 1941. She taught for six years, each summer she attended Kearney State Teachers College.

On September 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Francis John Anthony in Grant, Nebraska. Two sons were blessed to this marriage, Clifford and Russell. Francis preceded her in death on January 10, 2008.

Lois was a member of the Church of Christ in Cozad. She was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, served on the election board and was a member of the knitting club. She loved spending time with her family and attending aqua fitness sessions.

Survivors include her two sons: Clifford and wife Deb of Lexington and Russell and wife Pam of Wellington, Colorado. Four grandchildren: Sandra (Andrew) Wang of Kearney, Kelly (Benjamin) Kinnison of Kearney, John (Bianca) Anthony of Wellington, CO. and Darcy Anthony of Wellington, CO., six great-grandchildren: Evan, Isabella, Taylor, Barrett, Myles and Adelynn.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Johnny and one brother Stanley Wells.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cozad Church Of Christ with Pastor James McCrickard, officiating.

The casket will be open prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at the Hewitt Cemetery in rural Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
