Obituary

Services for Tony Roe, 48, Cozad, will be at 2:00 p.m., today, October 26, 2002, at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Pastor Bruce Berggren officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery northwest of Lexington.

Tony died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at Southview Manor Care Center in Cozad.

He was born July 9,1954, at Lexington to Laverne and Twila (Heine) Roe. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1972.

In 1971, he married Linda Racek. They made their home in Lexington, where he was the chef at Michael's Cafe. The couple moved to Denver, where he as an executive chef at Holiday Inn.

He later returned to Lexington and worked at Kirk's Nebraskaland Restaurant.

He moved to Kearney, where he was executive chef at the Holiday Inn. He had also worked as a chef at Elks Clubs in Arvada, Colorado and Cozad.

He had made his home in Cozad since 1989. He cherished his time with his grandchildren and enjoyed playing pool and darts.

He wasa member of the American Lutheran Church at Cozad.

Survivors include a daughter, Stacey (Doug) Vitek, Cozad; two sons, Gerry (Coral) Roe, Las Vegas, Nevada and Ryan Roe, Jack Pot, Nevada; his mother Twila (Marvin) Smith, Cozad; his father, LaVerne (Marge) Roe, Burley, Idaho; six grandchildren, Marissa, Makayla, Mariah, Bria, Samantha and Joshua; a brother, Lonnie (Kelly) Parsons, North Platte; three sisters, Cindy (Al) Ackerman and Penny (Kent) Bartlett, all of Cozad and Vickie (Woody) Drury, Burley, Idaho; two step sisters, Pat Smith, Cozad and Karen (Curt) Harper, Holdrege; and a special friend, Mary Brown, Cozad.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddy, and grandparents, Chris and Katy Heine, and Edward and Irene Roe.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Berryman Funeral Home of Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
