TERESA HUNT
OBITUARY

Death at 14 claimed Teresa Hunt, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Hunt, on Saturday, July 26, 1969 in the local hospital where she had been a patient one week. Taken suddenly ill July 19, she entered the hospital and the next day her condition was critical from that time on.

Final rites for Teresa Ann were Wednesday afternoon in the Berean Fundamental Church. W. R. Matzke, pastor of the church officiated and interment was in the Arcadia Cemetery at Arcadia.

Teresa Ann was born August 11, 1954, at Oakland, California, where her parents were residing while Mr. Hunt served in the United States Navy. The family returned to Arcadia and lived there until 1959, then moved to Lexington.

Teresa had completed her freshman year at Lexington High School. She was a member of the Berean Fundamental Church.

Surviving are her parents: four younger brothers, Steven, David, Mark and Patrick, all at home; grandparents, Mrs. Sidney Hunt and Mr.& Mrs. Marion Burns, all of Arcadia.

The Reynolds-Love Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


JAMES W. BUCHHOLZ
OBITUARY

Funeral services for James W. Buchholz, 17, who died Saturday of internal injuries suffered from an accidental gunshot wound, were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Donald A. Botic, officiated and burial was in Buffalo Grove Cemetery.

The accident occurred about 7:00 p.m. Friday at the farm home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Buchholz, north of Lexington. According to the boy's father, Jim and his brother John 16, were cleaning their guns when a .22 automatic accidentally discharged lodging the shell into the lower part of Jim's abdomen.
The two boys had brought the gun into their room after removing the shells outdoors. One shell was apparently caught in the magazine and did not eject until Jim was dismantling the gun for cleaning purposes.

Jim was immediately taken to Lexington Community Hospital by his father where surgery was performed. Death occurred shortly after noon Saturday at the hospital.

He was born April 15, 1954, at Lexington and was the oldest son of Wayne and Margie Buchholz. He was a senior at Lexington Senior High School, where he participated in wrestling and dramatic arts, and had attended District 59 rural school before entering Lexington Public Schools as a freshman.

He was a member of Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church where he participated in Sunday School, choir and youth activities. A nine-year member of Hillside Sparkplugs, he had taken 4-H livestock, photography and other projects.

Surviving are his parents, two brothers, John and Roy, two sisters, Donna and Lois; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Len Buchholz of Lexington; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Edith Fellows of Sargent; five uncles and one aunt.

CLINTON C. NICKERSON
Obituary

Clinton C. Nickerson 30, of North Platte, formerly of Lexington, a brother of Mrs. Bob (Priscilla) Meester of Lexington, died Tuesday in a North Platte Hospital.

Services were held Friday morning at the First United Methodist Church in North Platte with Rev. Dennis Hendrick officiating. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery in Farnam, Nebraska.

He was born March 29, 1954 at North Platte to Clifford C. and Pearl R. Sheffield Nickerson.

In 1958 he moved to Lexington with his family when his father was manager of the Sixth Street Food Store for 12 years. The family returned to North Platte in 1970. He graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1972.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nickerson of North Platte; one brother, Bradly S. Nickerson, North Platte; and one sister, Mrs. Meester, Lexington.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.


RICHARD "Rick" O'MEARA

OBITUARY

Richard Thomas "Rick" O'Meara, 53, of Genoa, died January 12,2008 at his home.

Funeral services will be held (today) Saturday, January 19,at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Eddyville. Rice Funeral Home in Genoa is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Tony of Omaha and Dylan of Shelby; one daughter, Madison of Shelby; three sisters, Julie (Louie) Fettig of Worland, Wyoming, Ann (Bob) Brown of Lexington, Eileen (Larry) Burkey of Broken Bow, and 21 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda.

Rick was born April 29, 1954 in Kearney, to Thomas L. and Ruth E. (Spellmyer) O'Meara. He grew up and attended school in Lexington. He moved to Columbus where he worked for a number of years for the Lindsay Manufacturing Corporation as a certified welder. He retired from Lindsay Manufacturing due to illness.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.


Beverly Rath Dyke
OBITUARY

Beverly J. (Rath) Dyke, 60 of Kearney, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Mount Carmel Home in Kearney.

Services will be Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel in Kearney with Pastor Scott Guthrie officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be in the evening on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel and also one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Memorial are suggested to Asera Care Hospice of Kearney Tackles Cancer.

Beverly was born on January 19, 1954 in Arlington, Virginia to Hugh J. and Dolores R. (Krigbaum) Rath.

She married Everett Dyke in Council Bluffs, Iowa and he preceded her in death. Beverly will be remembered for her unshakable faith in the Lord, friendliness, thoughtfulness and her unselfish acts.

Surviving relatives include her father and step-mother, Hugh and Eilene (Wehr) Rath, of Johnson Lake, NE; Sister, Deborah Smith of Aurora, Colorado; Twin brother, Steve (Linda) Rath of Elwood, Nebraska and brother, Mike (Amanda) Rath of Pawnee City, Nebraska; Aunt, Barbara Krigbaum of Falls Church, Virginia; Uncle Curtis (Sharon) Adler of Chapel, NE; Sister-in-law, Donna Rath of Martinsburg, West Virginia, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, mother and brother, Ronald.

Note: Beverly was victim of a horrific automobile accident while we were in high school. The accident resulted in many life-changing challenges for Bev, including making her a paraplegic. She never allowed the accident to alter her positive outlook on life or her faith. Bev was one of the most loving people you could know. She is deeply missed especially by classmate Deb Small Conley who visited her on a regular basis at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney.


Dale A. Hollibaugh
OBITUARY

Dale A. Hollibaugh, of Omaha, Nebraska was born on July 4, 1954, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Dale and Phyllis Hollibaugh.

He went to his heavenly home on September 6, 2021.

Dale grew up in Lexington, Nebraska and moved to Sumner where he graduated from Sumner High School in 1972.

He attended Kearney State College and graduated with is degree in 1976. Dale taught high school math and physics for 4½ years. He worked as the Office Manager for Robertson's Furniture in Grand Island, Nebraska. Dale worked for numerous cooperatives in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa for most of his career and up until his death.

His passions in life were his family, work, Husker football, the Green Bay Packers, baseball, Saturday morning cartoons, and food. Dale loved spending time with is grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hollibaugh; son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren: Josh, Sylvia, Jackson, and Kinsey Hollibaugh; son, daughter-n-law, and grandchildren: Josiah, Megan, Olivia, Brianna, Hudson, and Ethan Hollibaugh and Nicholas; daughter Sarah Dee Hollibaugh; mother, Phyllis Hollibaugh; siblings: Cathy Chris, Bob and Mike.

He was preceded in death by grandparents; Father, Dale L. Hollibaugh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Naomie Hothem.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the West Center Chapel, followed by CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 11:00 A.M., interment in Overton, Nebraska, Memorials will be directed by the family.
